Hello Beautiful.
Yes, you! You are beautiful. You are sexy. You are kind.
I know what you are thinking. I am fat, these sidehandles, this muffintop, this huge ass is not beautiful nor sexy. You are wrong. Those extra pounds just means that there is more to hold and to love.
Look at you/me. Look at the size of those hips, look at that fat chin. Look at those arms, man look at those bingowings. You are one fat girl. Now, look closer. See that clear skin, those rosy cheeks and most important, look at that little girl looking like she is having the time of her life. Sure she notices her aunts extra rolls of fat, but when she looks at her aunt she smiles because she loves her and see a person who loves her, dances with her, plays with her and shower her with warmth and love. Now I am not saying that looks are not important. If I did not think appearence where important, I wouldn't be having a blog dedicated to fashion. But some things are more important than the size of your belly. Do not listen to all people saying that big girls can not be sexy and wear tight and fitting clothes! To hell with them. I see so many pictures of beautiful, sexy big girls on the internet. Why shouldn't we be able to be like those girls. It is all about how you feel and how you project that confidence. Confidence is by far the sexiest thing about any girl, no matter what size you are. I am making a vow that from now on, I dictate how I feel and what I wear. I will no longer be listening to the people in my life that tells me I should only wear slouchy, baggy clothes to hide my marvelous curves. I have listened to those people for far too long and subjected myself to wear only "comfortable" clothes. No more! I am young, I am beautiful and I love myself!
Forever yours,
Me

Fabulous Fat Figures
Fabulous Fat Figures is going to be a blog about plus-size fashion. This is my way of getting in touch with my own curves. I am a big girl. I am a pearshape. I way 134 kg and I have not bought any clothes in three years. Not buying any clothes for three years has several reasons, 1. I didn't have any money, 2. Fashion for big girls is hard to find in Denmark and 3. I went through a long period of time where I simply was not happy. I was not happy with my life, my size, my status as a single girl at the age of 25. I am still single, my size is the same but one thing has changed. I am happy with my life! I have found an education that I am happy with. I used to study Biology at the university, but it simply wasn't me and I was very unhappy. I did not understand about 80 % of the subjects and I did not have the same passion for the field of Biology like the rest of my classmates. I spend 1 year and 6 months on Biology before I simply gave up. I could not find the motivation to get up in the morning and I ended up spending 3 months in my bed. Only getting up to get food. I ended up moving in with my dad and stepmom and ended up going on social welfare. In Denmark, the state requires young people under the age of 25 to get an education if they go on welfare. So I had to find out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life and honestly I had no clue. I had plenty of dreams yes, but I didn't know which one to follow. Biology was my dream once and that did not end well and I was scared that whatever I chose next would end up being the same. All I knew for certain was that I didn't want anything to do with the field of science. So I went in a completely different direction, I look at becoming a hairdresser, but you had to have an internship before you could be accepted into school and my counselor guided me away from that path, saying that first and foremost it was difficult getting an internship and second the start of school was to far away and the state would not let me wait that long to start my education. In the end I applied for an education in marketing-management and I got in! I'm still not sure this was the right choice, I do look at other educations and think maybe I chose wrong. But all the other educations I look at are in the same field as the one i'm taking and with the education i'm getting now, I can get a job and work my way over to the other similar fields I am looking at. Best of all, I am fitting in. I understand and excel in the subjects. I have found my joie de vivre again. I spent most of my days smiling and laughing and I am active in class. This is a huge improvement from my previous Biology school days.
Now that I have found my happiness, I find myself having more confidence than I have ever had before. I am proud to be me. Sure i'm a big girl, but I am also kind, intelligent and beautiful and I think it is time to make some changes in how I dress. My style has changed so much in the past three or more years, but my clothes haven't. I love fashion but I have never applied all I knew about to my own life and I promise, you and myself, that this is going to change. I want to dress the way I feel!
It is going to be a difficult journey. I have not got an excessive amount money just waiting to be spent, but I will try to be at least one item of good quality every month or at least every other month. I have never been good at accesorizing and own next to no jewelry and I will definitely have to work on this. Also my parents have always been very focused on my weight and they have played a big part in me always trying to cover up my curves instead of emphasizing them. I am 25 years old now and I have chosen to make this the time where I break with all of their believes about what a big girl can and can't do. My new mantra will be, I am big, I am beautiful and I am so much more than my weight.
I would just like to thank my new school, my new friends and my life for the joy they bring me, simply because they are what have spiraled me into this new way of thinking.
I would also like to link to this pinboard which is really what ignited my passion for plus-size fashion.
That will be all for now my fat fab fashionistas, ta ta.
